Short blogging break

...while we are in Alabama for a few days.

Being in Alabama is a full-time job in and of itself and requires all the strength I can muster.

  1. Enjoy your getaway! Happy 4th of July, too!

  2. I trust you have taken your banjo with you? Oh, Susannah oh don't you cry for me!

Thank goodness you're not in Mississippi then. You'd be flat on your back comatose or even tomatotose. Seriously, though, don't you think you've had a long enough break?

  4. Jeannelle, we did have a happy Fourth. Saw our daughter and son-in-law play their flute and French horn, respectively, in the University of Alabama's summer community orchestra, then watched a stupendous fireworks show over Red Mountain and the big statue of Vulcan.

Y.P., I don't own a banjo, but I will be on the lookout for same.

Snowbrush, are you daft? It is July 18th and we have been back in Georgia since July 5th. Moreover, I have published nine posts since this one, a couple of them while we actually were in Alabama.

  5. "Snowbrush, are you daft?"

Is that a rhetorical question? Remember, Alabama was sufficient to throw YOUR continued sanity into doubt, yet you were only there for a short time, whereas I spent 3.6 decades in a far more crazy-making place. I'm lucky just to remember how to get out of bed every morning. However, the stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid old (see how your ban on profanity makes me repeat myself) link to your blog that is on my homepage took me directly here. I did not pass any of those 999 posts you referred to on my way here, and I didn't look at the date on this post because I assumed I was looking at your most recent post.

You're a funny many, Robert, which, when combined with my own proclivities toward funnyation, is probably why we get along in spite of it all.

  6. P.S. So, now you're going to approve comments, making it impossible for me to check what I've written for errors immediately after pressing the orange key?

  7. Snowbrush, I do not moderate fairly recent comments. I moderate only those comments that are left on posts that are at least two weeks old. You have only yourself to blame, having landed on a July 3rd post on July 18th.

To get to my most recent post, simply delete everything in the address line after ".blogspot.com" -- you know, the stuff beginning with "2012/07..." and it will take you to the top of my blog. You probably know this already.

Orange key? What orange key? I have no orange key on my keyboard.

  8. "Orange key? What orange key? I have no orange key on my keyboard."

It's two up from the rose petal red key, two down from the summer skies' blue key, and two to the left of the Black Lab black key. How do you manage to type when you don't even know your own keyboard? I don't understand you. You seem so rational some of the time and so confused the rest of the time. Oh, that's right, you're a Methodist and good Methodists don't do drugs.

  9. P.S. Why moderate old comments (where the SPAM isn't likely to be) and not new comments (where the SPAM is likely to be)?
